Easter is a Time to Renew God’s Love…

(Memphis, TN) Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas…It is a common fact that holidays have been commercialized to the point of losing their significance over the past several decades. We have become distracted from the meaning of the particular observance with a hazy focus on the “things” that we are urged to purchase to make the day more special. Of course, we know that it is not any “thing” we need – but rather each other. Our Father created us with a part in our hearts that can only be truly filled with His love, and that love extends to our fellow brothers and sisters.

Love, pure and simple, is the essence of Easter, is it not? John 3:16 (KJV) reveals to us, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. ”  Our lives mean more in the tapestry of history than we can fathom. The march to defeat darkness is one that requires us all singularly and together. We were created for a supernatural reason! We are called by “our better angels” to fight the good fight for our Lord and Father with the ultimate goal to glorify Him.

Our one-on-one daily encounters with one another are not random. They are moments in time for negative strongholds to be broken, loving friendships formed and communities strengthened. Whether we realize it or not, our love can heal broken hearts, set a neighbor on a new path and encourage brothers and sisters in ways that we cannot begin to know. Our willingness to carry the day with love for each other can render us a peace that underscores the true meaning of life. Gratitude then takes hold and our loads become lighter. And our love for one another grows stronger.

When we understand one another, we love each other more freely. Barriers are broken down, fences mended and the greater good takes on energy in profound ways. Care and compassion connect us and have the opportunity to create positive change in our communities. Our determination to let love triumph over fear is key…thus allowing love to be the final victor.

God, our Father, provided us with an example of His unconditional love in the form of companion animals, our families,  true friends and fellow believers. The more we love one another, the closer we move to the light of the Lord where peace is promised. Commitment to share each others trials and joys is really not difficult. It simply requires an open heart that listens and speaks understanding and love.  Thank you.
